| Hi! I'm from Brasil, Just finished playing Yousei and came here to tell you how amazing it was!!!
The way every small detail left off in the other 2 games was tied together in here was perfect! Who would have thought Auten's interest for chinese antiques, including the Dragon and Tiger stuff, had a purpose in the whole plotline! The white hair in the twins was also not only for fashion! It took me by surprise!
Also glad because we learned more about "Kangai" Alexander! Who is the Dragon? So curious!!!!! (I have some ideias of my own but I'm going to keep them for myself ^^)
About Chance, I'm more than happy to see they finally learned about her true colours. I hate her since the first game... It was my first try and I was so happy for playing... and Chance had to ruin my fun by poisoning "Kangai". The game was already back to the Main Menu and I was still back there shouting: "Don't drink it! Don't trust her! She's evil!!!!" Can't wait to see they defeat her!!!!
Now... I have to say it. I know... I know Yousei was only released a few days ago, bu I have to say it: Can't wait for the next game!!!!! I won't sleep tonigth! I will keep dreaming about how the story might continue!
*P.S.: Sorry for English language mistakes! *Question & Sugestion for Sakevisual: How do you guys work with/create the plot of a visual novel? I'm taking Portuguese Language/Literature in college so I'm really interested in hearing from you about it! I would really like to read an "interview", a post of you guys talking about how was to create Yousei!

| @G.N.A. : Welcome to the forum, and thank you so much for posting. We're glad you enjoyed it! For the how, it's a very long story, but I will probably write about it in small bits on the blog or somewhere else. The current version really has a lot of changes from the original idea. XD | |

| Spoilers below, obviously.
I don't have much to add, but I wanted to say that I absolutely love how the twins and Li Mei see Alex as family.
This usually doesn't happen while reading stories, but I felt my heart race a little bit when Aki started yelling at Alex. It was weird to see that side of her. She got upset in Kansei, I remember that, but it was more light-hearted and sarcastic, rather than serious.
I'm also loving the way the relationship between Li Mei and Alex is coming along. It seems as if he is taking a special interest in her, nothing romantic, just pure. He seems to genuinely care about her. It's sweet.
Also, the white hairs. Right in the feels. <3
Hopefully I'll have more to add later, but I've only finished the Killer Lost ending and I'm almost done with the Li Mei ending.

No worries and this time I have to apologize for a late reply - sorry, it has been quite hectic recently. - Spoiler:

But in the end I decided it was better to not be too graphic and just stick with that ^^; (though I noticed some inconsistency with the narration later on, saying the identity of the corpse was confirmed via the reconsntructed fingerprints from what was left of the body, so the complete hand there didn't make much sense, I guess ^^;;;
Well, I must say I didn't really notice it ^_^; (probably because the narration mentioned it only later), and it definitely didn't bother me! And the not-too-graphic image is probably a good thing for more sensitive players (^_^) - Deji wrote:
Personally, I've always liked blood in general (not gore or looking at photos of dead people/animals or anything like that, though... - I can't even watch violent bloody movies - how do I explain... I find blood kind of beautiful?... And I enjoy watching forensic shows a lot, haha ^^; ), but I have to say that researching for this chapter made me a lot less squeaky about bloody crime scenes and gross/bloody wounds than I used to be, haha ^^;;
I think I understand what you're trying to say, especially from an artistic point of view. Imagery that would normally be shocking/distressing/depressing if encountered in real life can, when portrayed in say a painting, be sad, but also extremely beautiful and meaningful.

I'm happy you enjoyed the art! While looking at it now I think I could have done some things better, I'm really proud of it and i hope to keep improving for next installment of the series ^___^ I am looking forward to seeing more of your art!

| First off i wanna premise this as you guys have a great artist working for you on this series. Seriously the art is better then mine, and it's so beautiful i was alarmed at times by how pretty it all looked. Now i have no idea how to create a spoiler so imma try this. Warning spoiler alert incase it doesn't work. - Spoiler:
First off i got the true end my first playthrough, which was really confusing because i thought i may have gotten the twins end because of the story leading up to this with them helping me so i actually played through the game an extra time *whoops* I would like to say you guys should have a list of the endings aquired somewhere in the start menu *perhaps under cg's* in a future game because it makes it a little easier to figure out which endings you have and didn't have.
Onto Gameplay: This game is similar in premise to both kansei/jisei in how it is played, i think for this game though the only thing that would have made it better for return playthroughs would be if you guys had a third option to go back to the main campus in order to save some clicking because this may just be me but i found it a bit redundant and annoying to return to the front entrance of the lab if i misclicked and got to the back instead of front entrance. So perhaps a third button by the notepad/phone would be a good idea for the next installment.
Also i've found that in terms of speed of text/skipping that this game was a bit slow to skip text through and was a bit annoying to go through after the first time because of this. Also on that note it was hard at times to know which key points i was missing in order to advance the story to aaron waking up *from there it was easy* Also - i found this game much shorter then kansei/jisei felt and perhaps that's why it's only 15.00 (totally worth the price) But i would have liked a little more suspense, and a longer story.
The mystery i had completely figured out by the time of the end with absolutely no guess work (because the time that nathan had been there, and i had found out that the bikes were given out by shawn's parents - so it was obvious (without knowing his details entirely at that point) he would respect his parents and not steal the bikes himself. So the mystery aspect wasn't that difficult.
Gameplay was smooth and the voices were really well done, the volume is still loud (but i blame my speakers) but very clear. I'd also like to mention that the bell sounds lasted way too long and had me skip the text at the beginning of the game when you meet shawn for one line - too loud, and they last too long. (a single or double ring would have been fine imo)
Now that that wall-o-text is out of the way here's the ratings:
Audio Quality: 10/10 - Sparkling clear, understandable dialect, The music was never annoying and always relevant and well done when it came to importing it into the game. Didn't take forever to load.
Visuals: 9.5/10 - Beautiful character designs and the bg's were clean and actually fit the theme. The only screen that wasn't so sparkly was the Main campus screen - which is fine and it didn't matter much in terms of gameplay so i didn't care that much about it.
Gameplay: 6/10 - The lack of a return to main campus button was extremely annoying in the Biology building particularily, as were clicking through the cafeteria to the lounge. I also wish there would have been more clues hidden in the background and that the magnifying glass had more of a purpose besides to look at the printer. I found a few things in Aaron's room that clued me in, but aside from there - the images weren't that creative or mysterious.
Epilogue: 9/10 Fan-freaking-tastic. The only thing i'm a bit sad about is that it wasn't longer honestly. It did make me want the next game so mission accomplished.
Overall: 8.5/10 - The issues i had were all listed above and this is entirely my opinion. I love getting VN's from you guys - they're always marvelous and have wonderful artwork. So much love. I hope you make a few otome games in the future, the artwork is seriously beautiful in this game, the voices were awesome, music is awesome, and i loved playing through this. Thank you for creating an awesome game - it's short but sweet.
Edit: P.S I loved the extra's, The glasses were so adorable on everyone, and the phone charm had me laughing my ass off.

| I finally finished yousei. I usually have a lot of self control when it comes to gaming during the school year, but not this time. Yousei actually managed to distract me from my studies >.< In other words, great job!!
I absolutely love the characters. I love how you learn more about them bit by bit as you progress through the series. I don't know about anyone else, but I kinda sorta have a crush on Gurski hehe ^//^
As of right now I don't have any suggestions, but definitely looking forward to your new releases!

| I played through Jisei, Kansei and now finally Yousei today and I just wanted to say, thanks for such a great game! I loved the glasses gimmick in Yousei - they looked great! (Definitely added +20 hotness to Miko. XD) Fantastic enigmas and all that jazz - I really want to know what happened to Alex and Amy, and hope for more backstory on Li Mei when the time is right. This is probably the only VN I've played that isn't directly romance-related (though the teeny hints here and there have been cute!) but has me totally hooked. I'm really looking forward to the next instalment so I can see what comes next! Gonna assume that takes place at a resort. And assume another untimely murder takes place there? Haha. | |
